BUMP is a pregnancy buddy that provides support for the mother and comfort for the baby. The huggable pillow is a tangible companion for the mother, the e-base - a digital assistant for the family and the rocker - a cozy sleep-aid pod for the baby.

WHY
Market Research.
The Global Pregnancy Care Products market is expected to grow at a significant CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 5.30% by 2028, which roughly adds up to $38.78 million.
Kraamzorg.
Kraamzorg is a service in the Netherlands and Belgium where postnatal care is provided to the mother and the baby in the initial 8-10 days immediately after birth.
What if?
Such a service was provided at home not just for a short period after pregnancy but during and post-pregnancy to parents, new borns, and the extended family.
CHAPTER 3
HOW
The objective is to create a pregnancy buddy to help pregnant couples feel comforted and more confident during pregnancy and also post-delivery with an at - home solution.
CHAPTER 4
WHAT
BUMP has a magnetic snap on power cord which needs to be connected in order for the base to work.
The baby swing or rocker uses a simple linear stepper motor along with a rotary motor for the rocking motion. BUMP has 2 kinds of safety motion locks, which keeps the pillow intact with the base.
THE SMART BASE
BUMP uses shy-tech by BMW for the screen interface, so essentially, BUMP doesn’t have a screen, it is the screen! The sensors have been created using a dot matrix of LED’s which creates graphic elements to be interacted with.
